As a working mom, Kyandra Darling understands firsthand what it's like to work hard and still fall short. For many, the cost of living in Florida has become too expensive. From housing that no longer reflects the needs or incomes of working families to soaring insurance rates and stagnant wages, too many are being priced out of communities and neighborhoods they’ve helped build.
That's why, as your State Representative, Kyandra will fight to put everyday Floridians first by delivering:
Real insurance relief for hardworking families, seniors, and veterans—not just bailouts for giant corporations.
More funding for affordable housing that meets the needs of real people.
Investments in our local small businesses and entrepreneurs through expanded access to capital.
Lower taxes and fees for working- and middle-class families.
A living wage for every Floridian—because no one working full time should live in poverty.
Protect our seniors from fraud and financial crime, and ensure every senior has access to quality, affordable care they’ve earned after a lifetime of hard work and raising their families.
-
Kyandra Darling believes every Floridian deserves access to quality, affordable healthcare—no exceptions. Yet Florida remains one of just 11 states that has refused to expand Medicaid since the Affordable Care Act passed in 2010. That failure has left hundreds of thousands without the care they need.
As your State Representative, Kyandra will fight to:
Make health insurance affordable for all Floridians.
Lower prescription drug costs for seniors, people with chronic illnesses and families who struggle to afford essential medications.
Protect access to comprehensive reproductive care and champion women’s rights.
Expand community-based care so more people can recover at home, not in institutions.
Ensure mental health is treated with the urgency and coverage it deserves and is covered by insurance.
Strengthen maternal health programs to reduce preventable deaths and disparities in care.
Expand preventive care and chronic disease management programs to keep people healthier and reduce long-term costs.
-
Kyandra Darling believes investing in the future of our state starts with investing in stronger local schools. Florida continues to suffer through a teacher and staff shortage while students bear the brunt of repeated policy failures. That’s why Kyandra is committed to fully supporting our teachers and support staff, investing in our classrooms, and putting students—not politics—at the center of our education system.
As your State Representative, Kyandra will fight to:
Raise wages for teachers and school support staff to be competitive with similar professions and to keep pace with inflation.
Fully fund education — including career and college readiness programs that prepare students for the workforce and higher education.
End the partisan culture wars in our classrooms and let educators do their jobs.
Champion targeted retention bonuses and incentives for veteran teachers to recognize their experience and dedication.
Invest in comprehensive recruitment, training, and mentoring programs to address Florida’s teacher and education staff shortages.
Expand access to mental health professionals, counselors, and support staff in schools to promote student well-being and safe learning environments.
End the school-to-prison pipeline and invest in student support, not punishment.

Kyandra Darling believes that every Floridian has the right to be safe and secure —whether at home, at school, or in our neighborhoods. She’s dedicated to commonsense policies that protect families.
As your State Representative, Kyandra will:
Advocate for universal background checks on all gun purchases while protecting the rights of law-abiding owners.
Enhance the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Safety Act to ensure stronger protections in our schools.
Work to make sure domestic abusers and violent criminals are banned from owning a firearm
Collaborate with law enforcement and community leaders from all backgrounds to build mutual trust and accountability.
Invest in mental health and substance abuse services to strengthen families and prevent violence.
Strengthen disaster readiness, stormwater infrastructure and climate resilience efforts so every Floridian is protected from natural disasters and the impacts of climate change.
Support local food systems and sustainable agriculture to strengthen food security and reduce environmental impact.
Hold polluters accountable and increase transparency around environmental risks in low-income and frontline communities.
Expand urban tree canopy and green space to reduce heat islands, improve air quality, and support mental well-being.
